Born on December 6, 1994, in Chembur, Bombay, Shreyas Iyer hails from a mixed heritage. His father, Santosh Iyer, has Tamilian roots, while his mother, Rohini, is from a Tuluva background, with their family roots tracing back to Thrissur, Kerala.

In 2014, Shreyas Iyer gained recognition while playing for the Trent Bridge Cricket Team during his UK tour. Across three matches, he showcased exceptional batting skills, amassing a total of 297 runs with an outstanding average of 99.
